On 24th April 2018 I posted a picture on Instagram with the following caption:

“SILVER DOLLAR CLUB (pretty sure this could be a band name, song title, album title and record sleeve all in one picture - though they're probably all already taken).”

The next day, in much the same spirit as I recorded 2006's 'Sergeant Howie's Holy Stamina Test', I wrote and recorded as many songs as I could in the free hours I had that day, using my Instagram picture of Oban's 'Silver Dollar Club' bingo hall as my creative stimulus.

In my usual haphazard fashion, I then proceeded to sit on the recordings for over a year and a half, only re-visiting them when I needed a distraction from another musical project that had temporarily stalled. Nothing new was added to the songs; only the mixes were tweaked.

The four songs here are far from perfect, but that's partly the point. Taken as a whole, the EP acts as a document, a diary entry, rather than as a polished, finished product. Like the photo, it's a single moment, captured in time. Enjoy.
