Eon Hetherton I’m a longtime Calamateur/Andrew Howie fan and this has been one of my favourite releases from over the years.
Can’t believe it’s been so long since this collection of tunes was first released.

Although these songs are now old enough to be attending high school, listening to them today doesn’t feel like an exercise in nostalgia. Each song still sounds as heartfelt and fresh as they did 13 years ago.
Favorite track: Bad Architecture.

I’ve always believed in the old stories of rising from the dead But where is my heart, what’s my priority, is it just to retread A comfortable blanket of philosophy that’s only in the heads Of a deluded community that’s lost all its stability Where have you gone Where have you gone Why am I ashamed of what I hold to be the heart of what is me What am I afraid of, is it only laughter at what I believe The same old stories The death of me Where have you gone Where have you gone Where have you gone Where have you gone Let’s take them apart, all of these old beliefs and go back to the plans Burn them down to be rebuilt to house the lonely and the damned Bad architecture will never last Where have you gone Where have you gone Where have you gone Where have you gone

I can’t believe that you’re letting us down at the moment we need you the most Don’t your remember your promise you made a commitment not to give up the ghost We gave up our lives and we trusted your words and we followed you everywhere Even when you were ranting and making mistakes we all knew you could make things fair And now you’re talking of leaving and turning your back on the hopes that we had for you And these delusional fools think you’re something you’re not and that they are the chosen few This was your perfect This was your perfect moment This was your perfect This was your perfect moment Now it’s been wasted Now it’s your wasted moment Now it’s your wasted Now it’s your wasted moment And I don’t want you Yeah, I’ll say it before you do You are not the truth This was your perfect This was your perfect moment This was your perfect This was your perfect moment Now it’s been wasted Now it’s your wasted moment Now it’s your wasted Now it’s your wasted moment Now I see where you’re going I see what you’re thinking I’ll help you along the way Because the sooner you’re gone and the quicker it’s over and we can do things our way

about

Four-song EP, originally released as a staggered series of free mp3 downloads in 2006.

--------------------

Here's an excerpt from a blog post I wrote at the time:

"I read this quote in an interview the other day: 'I do record a lot, but I think it's pretentious to assume that anyone would want to hear it all'. If only I were so discerning.

On the 8th April 2005 I decided to write and record as many songs as I could in one day. A day being, in this case, 10 hours; 8am - 6pm to be precise. This collection of songs is the result of that day's work ('work!?' I hear you cry). Well, if I'm being honest there was a heckuva lot of editing & overdubbing done later on but the vast majority of the parts were done in one day. There will be either 4 or 5 songs released as part of this collection - I haven't quite decided yet, and they'll be released one at a time over the next few months.

Now you may be thinking, 'Wow, I certainly am impressed at this guy's creative genius' or you may be saying to yourself, 'What a self indulgent loser', but I'm guessing (and hoping) that the songs will at least be a little bit closer to the former of those two camps - I'm sure you'll have your own opinion. Please feel free to let me know by dropping me an email."
